jacob-1.jpgJacob is a shy but endearing eight year-old boy from Bunn who loves volcanoes and dinosaurs.  If it weren’t for his Wilm’s tumor, Jacob would be exactly like other boys his age.  When asked what he wanted his wish to be, it was no surprise that Jacob wanted to visit Hawaii to see a volcano up close!

Jacob travelled with his parents and older brother Ted, 12, to Hawaii on April 11 for a week-long stay in this island paradise.  When Jacob arrived to the airport in Honolulu, he was presented with an authentic Hawaiian lei!
During their stay, Jacob and his family stayed in a resort on the Big Island.  They had a spectacular view of the ocean from their hotel room!
jacob-3.jpgWhile in Hawaii, Jacob got to take a helicopter ride across the Big Island and even got to see volcanoes up close at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park!  He also had an encounter with a dolphin and got to pet one too!

After the trip, Jacob wrote a heartfelt note thanking the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Eastern North Carolina for making his wish to go to Hawaii come true. “I will never forget the trip! I loved it so much thanks to you!”
His favorite part of the wish was Dolphin Quest, where he got to learn about and swim with dolphins!  He really enjoyed the helicopter ride that he and his dad took across the island.  Jacob and his family shared some wonderful new experiences during their trip to Hawaii.
“I don’t have the words to express how thankful Jacob and our family are for this once in a lifetime trip.”  - Jacob’s Dad
